Additional information

Ullrich Kockel was principle investigator on this major contribution to European anthropology and ethnology. In addition to contributing a substantial chapter entitled ‘Toward an Ethnoecology of Place and Displacement’ (pp. 551-571), he conceived of the book, proposed it to Blackwell as part of their prestigious "Companions" series, chose and led the editorial team, selected suitable contributors, worked with the authors in shaping their contributions, wrote the bulk of the introduction and saw the whole work through the press.
