Additional information

<04>The research in this paper is a result of an extension to the funded “VCE’s core 3 research programme”. Bluetooth (BT) piconet and Wireless LAN (WiFi) are ubiquitous today; hence the issue of mutual interference in co-located BT and WLAN is becoming a very important research topic. This paper investigates interference between these systems by assessing the LAN performance with different lengths of Bluetooth data packets and the numbers of active piconets. Following theoretical analysis and simulation, the results show that as the piconet activity increases, there is an exponential decrease in the throughput performance of the WiFi system.
