Additional information

This paper presents the first analytical solution for the prediction of springback during metal forming that includes the effect of strain hardening. The solution agrees better with experimental results than existing solutions for high strength steels now used in the automotive industry. Springback analysis helps to achieve accuracy of tolerance and panel shape during forming especially in automotive and aerospace industries. The work arose from collaboration with Instituto Politécnico Nacional in Mexico.
