Correlation rotation linear precoding for mimo broadcast communications
The disruptive concept of aligning interference with the signal of interest to provide a source of useful signal power is proposed in this work. By means of practical, low-complexity transmitter processing techniques, a 4-fold power saving is demonstrated in a modest multiple-input-multiple-output communication link employing 4 transmit and 4 receive antennas. This highly cited work for its age (17 citations on Google Scholar), has contributed majorly in the award of a prestigious 5-year RAEng Research Fellowship of £550k on Interference Exploitation, and led to a joint grant proposal with U. Southampton for the £750k EPSRC project ‘GRIN’ on Green Communications.
