Additional information

This research paper explores the fundamental effect of intentional aluminium additions within a low carbon dual phase steel for automotive applications. This novel alloy development work, has led to the introduction of novel UK produced (Tatasteel UK) DP grades based on aluminium additions, It is proven unambiguously the dramatic effect on the range of production gap temperatures employed in Industrial practices (low cost implications), thus enabling consistent mechanical properties and easier hot mill processing (increased revenue) for these novel strip steel grades. A collaborative paper, with key Industrial Relevance for Tatasteel Strip Products (P.J.Evans@tatasteel.com) and Tata R&D (D.Crowther@tatasteel.com). IF=1.508
