Additional information

Following our introduction of the concept of chunk-based radio resource allocation for orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) systems in 2009, this paper developed a joint chunk, power and bit allocation scheme by exploiting the discrete nature of bits per symbol per subcarrier (bits/symbol/subcarrier). An important practical conclusion from this work is that when the discrete nature of bit/symbol/subcarrier is considered, the average throughput of the dynamic power allocation outperforms a fixed power allocation scheme. This research led to Zhu giving an invited presentation at Beijing Jiaotong University (Professor Zhenhui Tan, Past President, zhhtan@center.njtu.edu.cn).
