This paper was accepted at SOUPS 2009 (30.6% acceptance rate), the main conference for Human-Computer Interaction for Security research. The paper presents the experimental findings of a comparative analysis of the security and usability of 14 different mobile device pairing methods. The results indicate that, despite claims to the contrary, traditional methods of comparing and typing short text strings are more usable and secure than newer methods.
