Managing knowledge of urban sustainability assessment

This paper represents the first in a series from the EPSRC SUE-MoT (EP/C008030/1) project. The research aimed to shed light on the softer aspects of managing sustainability and to consider how to deliver sustainability in practice. Representing a continued legacy of GCU research in knowledge management in Sustainable Urban Environment (EP/C009649/1, GR/S18588/01), this paper provides the foundation for three detailed case studies exploring the application of assessment in practice resulting in 3 journal and 7 conference papers. The principles established were considered during EPSRC SURegen project (EP/F007213/1) with Dr Thomson seconded for 1 year (2009) by partner University of Dundee.
