Additional information

This research develops a process model to help practitioners involved in social housing refurbishment planned works manage an often ill-defined and inefficient process. Building on analytical techniques (Thomson et al 2011); the model was developed through observation and participation of four housing associations. It was promoted in Housing Scotland magazine (SFHA, 2012) and it’s potential to be incorporated as a management tool for inducting new staff highlighted during validation events with practitioners. Further work has seen its tailoring by East Kilbride HA to promote sustainability, and its future piloting by Irvine HA in 2014.
