Additional information

This paper presents the results of a collaborative project with Cyprus University of Technology whereby Thermo-Economics (an optimisation technique developed by LSBU) has been utilised to optimise the performance of a hybrid PV thermal collector. The research has led to the development of prototype technology which will improve the efficiency of conventional PV panels by at least 70%, however, unlike conventional hybrid PVT technologies, there is minimal increase in capital expenditure. The technology has been trialled at a number of important locations around the world and we are currently exploiting its potential in key applications.
