Additional information

This is the first paper that reported the application of artificial neural network for 1-hexene/4-vinyl-1-cyclohexene epoxidations catalysed by polymer-supported Mo (VI) complexes. This research was financially supported by EPSRC (EP/H027653/1) and The Royal Society Brian Mercer Feasibility award. The work was carried out in collaboration with Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Nigeria, and supported by Celanese Corporation, USA and TET Fund, Nigeria. This research won the first prize for technical excellence at an annual IChemE research event (2012). Its success has laid the foundation for the on-going research on commercially important epoxides production in multi-functional reactors.
