High-throughput continuous hydrothermal flow synthesis of Zn-Ce oxides: unprecedented solubility of Zn in the nanoparticle fluorite lattice
This paper describes the use of unusual high pressure supercritical water flow reactors for the preparation of novel nanomaterials. Furthermore, it describes a significant development in combinatorial methods for synthesis of advanced nanomaterials. This work led to further development of a fully automated continuous hydrothermal reactor, employed for rapid synthesis and characterisation of nanomaterials with a broad range of applications such as novel materials for solid oxide fuel cells, nanophosphors for biological and security tagging and photocatalysts for water splitting.
