Additional information

The application of high strength steel has become more attractive in recent years. However, uncertainties in its ductility and weldability have prevented its widespread use. The research in the paper highlights a new method of predicting the ultimate load capacity and the plastic strain pattern with excellent accuracy. The model presented gives new results for significantly increasing the connection capacity of a high strength steel section. The research will benefit high strength steel usage based upon the advanced EC3 connection method. Verification: Mr John Dowling, Tata Steel, construction@tatasteel.com
