Active vibration suppression by pole-zero placement using measured receptances
Significance of output:
This paper presents a completely new approach, called the receptance method, for active vibration control of structures, particularly helicopters. The theoretical work developed in this paper has been implemented successfully in a ground vibration tests on an Agusta-Westland W30 helicopter and published in Proceedings of the IMechE Part C. The method is entirely based on the measured vibration data and does not require any mathematical modelling such as FE models. Therefore, it avoids any assumptions, approximations and modelling errors. Vibration suppression can be achieved by assigning a zero at the particular frequency and coordinate for example under the pilot’s seat.
