Additional information

The results of research funded by the National Renewable Energy Centre (Narec), UK, in collaboration with the National Engineering Research & Development Centre (NERDC), Sri Lanka (2008-2010) to develop a new MPPT controller to improve the viability of micro wind turbines. A novel controller is proposed that accounts for the dynamics of the system (without predetermined system characteristics), which results in 12% increase in energy capture. This paper led to an invited paper at WREF/WREN conference, Denver, USA, May 2012 and a keynote speech at 3rd International Conference on Energy and Environmental Protection in Sustainable Development, Palestine, October 2013.
