Additional information

This output provided a better understanding of water diffusion through stratum corneum, and answered many fundamental questions in skin diffusion. Although the modelling is based on water diffusion, the principles can also be applied to the diffusion of other topical applied substances. The output of this paper has enabled the researchers in the trans-dermal drug delivery field to have a better understanding of drug diffusion through skin, the importance of intercellular and transcellular routes, and the effects of corneocyte size.
