Additional information

<07>The paper defines a product line process for aircraft engine control software. The process is the first application of transformations to support product lines in this context, and it is the first process to be evaluated on artefacts requiring certification. Evaluation is based on use by a large team of software engineers (circa 100), on a large code base (circa 250kLoC) in an industrial setting. The work shows that the typical return on investment from product lines (break even over three developments) is preserved despite the certification constraints. The approach has significant potential for use in other certification domains.
