Additional information

<19>This paper describes research carried out in a large multi-national US-UK collaborative defence project, the International Technology Alliance, and provides the novel theory necessary to efficiently distribute risk assessment calculations in a large distributed system. Subsequent ITA work has focussed on risk factors for individual components in such a system (e.g. Risk Modulating Factors in Risk–Based Access Control for Information in a MANET, Cheng and Karger). Risk profiles have also been used in multi-disciplinary projects, for example in security mind-mapping. (Risk Management of Research and Development of Land Based Vehicles, Cheng at al.)
