Additional information

This research was presented to technical staff at Ford, Dunton, who recommended that it be presented to the technical specialists at Ford USA, Dearborn, Michigan. This took place April 15th, 2013, and generated much interest, as it did at the SAE Congress presentation. The basic modelling and control methodology presented here is also being exploited in a project with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries entitled "Optimization of Turbocharger performance via advanced control methodologies" fully funding one Research Associate and associated experimental work for three years (2011-14).
