Additional information

This article is the first academic study to investigate the design, production, and distribution of lottery advertising in the first quarter of the nineteenth century. During this period the lottery printers made important contributions to developments in colour printing, typeface design, and poster design. The groundbreaking advertisements that they produced were distributed across the country as part of the UK’s very first nationwide advertising campaigns.
