Additional information

This theoretical study demonstrated that the conical ferromagnets such as holmium could induce a significant modulation of the critical current as a function of thickness. This was a key finding in the design of subsequent experiments from Blamire's group [Science 329(2010)59] and the work initiated the collaboration with James Annett at Bristol which is now funded by EPSRC (EP/F016611). Cited by theory papers and reviews from other groups which have identified ways of applying the effect in devices.
