The chapter was published in the book (outlined above) and formed one of many publications from the FP5 funded DYNAMITE project. This project was described by the European Commission as the most successful project, with regard to outputs, in the FP5 programme. A software product, developed by one of the partners, is now fully commercial and supporting industry in monitoring maintenance activities. This project has developed one book and another book is under development.
