Additional information

The findings, developed in collaboration with the GIPSA Lab (University of Grenoble, France) underpinned EPSRC funding success (EP/H049665/1, Chambers, Oct-2010, £300k). The results have also enabled development of the audio-visual part of a machine that is the first major step towards mimicking the human auditory system. Confirmation from Prof John Mathews, Fellow IEEE, University of Utah, USA (E-mail: mathews@ece.utah.edu).
