Double-weighted statement

The first full edition since 1855 of a neglected fourth-century BC geographical text; the first in English. Comprising 256 pages (96,000 words), it merits double weighting for the scale and complexity of the underlying research and for its range of achievement. It entailed one year's leave before, and another during, 2008-13; or 59% of available research time in 2008-13. Includes an introduction discussing editing principles, authorship, geographical and literary questions; fully revised Greek text based on word-by-word manuscript analysis; the first English translation; detailed historical commentary; and an 'apparatus criticus' (catalogue of variant readings and reconstructions of the Greek).
