Additional information

A model was developed to predict the effect of SiC particle size and distribution on the microstructure of magnesium based metal-matrix composites, which are currently of great interest in manufacturing advanced components in transport, aviation and electronics industries. The model, validated by measurements, can be used to design specific metal-matrix composites or optimise the micro-structure of an existing material. This model is under further development by AGH University of Science and Technology, Krakow (Ref: Prof. Krajewski krajwit@agh.edu.pl ).
