Additional information

This paper, one of the publisher's 25 hottest articles in 2008, develops a new methodology to model contributions from processing routes and design optimal manufacturing systems of multiple products for biorefineries. The value analysis work has become a standard tool for biorefinery economic sustainability, adopted by international research and industrial communities including USA, EU, Brazil, Korea, and further developed into an “integrated economic value and environmental impact” analysis tool. This led to Dr Sadhukhan being invited by Wiley-Blackwell to write the first Advanced Engineering text book in the field “Biorefineries and chemical processes: design, integration, and sustainability analysis” in press.
