Additional information

This paper is one of a series of articles about aircraft icing codes (known as ICECREMO), written to allow predictions for aircraft under icing conditions, and aid design of ice protection systems. The software is now used by Airbus as part of the certification of every new aircraft. It has played an essential role in several programmes which have values of millions of pounds (nicholas.dart@airbus.com). It is also used by BAeSystems for icing projects including the refurbishment of NIMROD (andrew.press@baesystems.com), and in all current large civil aircraft projects by Rolls Royce.
