Additional information

This research was conducted in collaboration with Rolls-Royce via the University Technology Centre in Gas Turbine Performance Engineering. The output is a methodology for the prediction of altitude relight engine performance of an aero engine which is a matter of safety in aviation. This research provides Rolls-Royce with robust predictive capability from the very early stages of the engine design and reduces the risk associated with the relight certification of the engine. It led to follow-on funding from Rolls Royce for one PhD and three MSc projects to build on this capabilty (Contact: richard.tunstall@rolls-royce.com)
