Additional information

This study was conducted in a collaboration between the Thermal Management of Photonic and Electronic Systems Laboratory and the Laboratory for Optomechanics and Micro/Nano Semiconductor/Photonics Systems, at the University of Maryland (USA). It is one of the first studies into thermal management aspects of Bragg gratings This has significance for optical fibre strain sensing, where unwanted cross-response to temperature changes is an important factor (contact Prof Avram Bar-Cohen, abc@umd.edu).
