Additional information

This research was funded by the Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research (TNO), to implement new technology to assess microbial viability in microbiological samples. The resulting 'viability toolbox' is currently offered by TNO to industrial clients (e.g. dairy industry, brewing and wine making, recombinant production of drugs) for product optimization. TNO contact: Dr. Frank Schuren, frank.schuren@tno.nl.
