Additional information
Core data used in this research was provided by the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). This paper was first presented as an invited lecture at the CAA's internal research seminar. The research finds that although low-cost carriers have significant impact on airports' commerical revenue, their contribution is much smaller compared to other carriers. The findings have important policy implications for aviation strategy at the regional level and beyond. (contact: Dr Charles Ng - charles.ng@caa.co.uk)
