Additional information

An output from EU Framework 7 project, Advanced Integrated Composite Tail Cone, ADVITAC (EU project reference 234290), a consortium including Daher Aerospace, Embraer (Brazil) and the Dutch National Aerospace Laboratory (NLR), investigating, for the first time, novel resin carbon-fibre composite construction of an aircraft tailcone assembly. Also new was the integration of fibre optic tapers within the lay-up structure for resin-flow monitoring during manufacture.( Stephanie PORTET, s.portet@daher.com, Fabiano Lobato, lobato@embraer.com.br, Chris Groenendijk, groenendijk@nlr.nl.) Selected for inclusion in Measurement Science and Technology’s Highlights (2013), ‘A compilation of outstanding papers from the last year and special 90th anniversary content’.
