Additional information

Research undertaken in collaboration with Oxford Instruments (OIS), making measurements of loads induced in energised superconducting magnets, providing insights not possible using other technologies. Transfer of this technology to OIS has enabled OIS to maintain its world leading position in ultra-high field magnets for state-of-the-art NMR technology. The sensors are now used routinely in measuring the dynamic strain performance of flagship 950MHz magnet coils, currently the highest strength commerically available NMR magnets, enabling their successful and safe operation.
