Additional information

This paper presents a preliminary study to facilitate selection of an appropriate numerical modelling approach for steel-concrete composite beams with profiled sheeting. Different analysis procedures and material models are tried to model a push test, which is a replica of the full scale beam. The major contribution of this research is that the separation of steel deck from concrete slab was modelled for the first time and this behaviour matched closely with experimental behaviour. It also helped to identify correct failure modes. This paper provided a major step towards realistic modelling of the actual experimental behaviour of steel-concrete composite beams.
