Additional information

This research has led to: (i) a TSB High Value Manufacturing grant (TP14/HVM/6/L/BD164H) (2009) on recovery of key materials from complex waste streams – beverage and seafood wastes - through novel use of ionic liquid (IL) technologies, with potential uptake by industrial partners – Heineken & Glycomar; (ii) award of 3 follow on PhDs (another in progress) – A.Gooding, P.Kewcharoenwong, F.Thompson – on development of IL-based methods for value recovery from wastes and low-grade primary sources; and (iii) an Imperial inter-faculty “Kick-start for Manufacturing” collaboration (2012) grant: Closing the Loop: Ionic Liquids for Recycling WEEE.
