This paper, motivated by flow of vitreous humour in the eye, appears in the top fluid mechanics journal (WoK), and demonstrates agreement between an analytical and an experimental study. This foundational work led to many subsequent publications, including in this journal and in Invest Ophthalmol Vis Sci, and results from an extension won the Best Paper prize at the 4th Asian-Pacific Conference on Biomechanics, 2009. It also resulted in several invitations to give presentations (including at EURETINA, Hamburg, 2013 and at TU Munich). The research was part of an ongoing international collaboration.
