Impact factor 3.84 and citation 41. This is the very first work initiated by Luo using piezoelectric (PE) thin film ZnO/Si surface acoustic wave to develop microfluidics. It demonstrated that the microsystems have comparable or better performance than those made from bulk PE substrates, and they can be integrated with CMOS. The subsequent work, including the recent breakthrough in flexible SAW microfluidics has led to 18 journal publications, 15 invited talks and a patent (Microfluidic transportation device and method for manufacturing the same, KR20080052296, WO 2008/069551). The work has made us the leader in the field.
