Additional information

This chapter represents the culmination of a collaborative research project begun in 2003, building on Ginsborg’s PhD research into the memorising strategies of singers with different levels of expertise. The theory of performance cues is well-established, but the research reported here is the first to consider the development of shared performance cues, and points to wider studies of expert musicians’ memory and recall.
