Double-weighted statement

This monograph is the first to examine the interrelationships between sensory and affective modes of feeling in theatrical production and reception. The request to double weight is based on the substantial body of interdisciplinary materials analysed in its research; its reassessment of spectatorship as a process of feeling in sensory and affective terms, informed by perspectives drawn from ecological psychology and the anthropology of the senses; its range across a variety of modes and genres of theatrical performance; and its grounding in practice-based research in professional theatre contexts internationally.
