Additional information

This collection theorizes the material practices of producing Shakespeare's plays. At the book's inception in 2008, Escolme and Stuart Hampton-Reeves gave research seminars on its content and principles at Anglia Ruskin University and QMUL. They co-commissioned and curated essays from leading academics in the field of early modern drama in performance who straddle the fields of literature, theatre history and contemporary performance. Escolme edited six of the twelve essays, chaired a meeting of the contributors to discuss the coherence of the collection as writing was in progress, co-wrote the preface, and contributed the essay on Costume (7,750 words).
