Distributed resource allocation for OFDMA-based relay networks
Paper derives new algorithms that optimise allocation of radio resources (transmit power, radio frequencies and time slots) across fixed wireless-relay network. While many papers have addressed performance of radio relays, few attempt to solve real-world problem of distributed resource allocation in fixed networks. Paper is believed to be first to address this problem. State-of-the-art physical-layer Orthogonal-Frequency-Division Multiple-Access (OFDMA) modelling is combined with advanced mathematical algorithms based on game theory. Paper also addresses trade-off between capacity and user fairness and was major contribution to Core 4 programme in EPSRC Mobile Virtual Centre of Excellence [tinyurl.com/gen-eng-127; contact: Senior Manager, NEC].
