This invited paper describes our work on systems for the transmission of wireless signals over multimode optical fibre, showing how it advances the previous worldwide state of the art, by making it possible to carry multiple wireless signals over a single fibre. In particular, before our collaborative work with Cambridge University, it was thought that multimode fibre had insufficient bandwidth to carry microwave carrier frequency wireless signals. We showed this not to be the case, founded the company Zinwave (www.zinwave.com) to commercialise the technology, licenced our patents to it and in 2012 annual sales revenues exceed US $ 4.5 million.
