Additional information

Ad hoc teams are increasingly common in military, policing and emergency response operations, but there is little work on how to quantify good performance. This EPSRC funded research undertook observation and interviews of serving crime scene examiners. Uniquely, the focus of the work is on the formation of ad hoc teams during the examination process and the ways in which team members collaborate. This has been influential in changing the ways in which crime scene examiners are managed in the participating Police Authorities and led to invitations to speak to the Home Office and Association of Chief Police Officers.
