Additional information

This paper presented a novel method of stability analysis of nonlinear vibration control, which achieved more accurate performance predictions than previous methods. The work was co-authored with an academic from Spain, who visited for 13 months in 2007/08. This collaboration has inspired a further programme of active control research in Madrid (ivan.munoz@upm.es) and has led to Reynolds being appointed to the Scientific Committee of the World Conference on Structural Control and Monitoring. This work fed into successful applications for a £600k EPSRC project on floor vibration control (EP/H009825/1) and a £1.1M EPSRC Leadership Fellowship (EP/J004081/1).
