Additional information

<20>This paper presents for the first time a context aware guiding framework for a robot to use haptic feedback to guide a human follower in low visibility environments such as smoke-filled rooms in firefighting. Context awareness includes realtime estimation of the confidence level of the follower. One reviewer commented, "The work definitely fills a hole in current research, and the experimental results suggest promise for the presented method". Related work presented at IEEE SMC2013 was short-listed for the best student paper award and the IEEE Franklin V Taylor Memorial award.
