Additional information

This paper develops the first thorough theoretical basis for the emerging discipline of industrial Ecology, setting a new international agenda. Within one year it is regarded as pre-eminent: it is a compulsory introductory text for Dartmouth College's Industrial Ecology module (within the College's "world-class" Thayer School of Engineering); it replaced Jouni Korhonen's widely referenced 'Four Principles for an Industrial Ecosystem' as their core text. The paper has attracted inquiries from many international researchers; from Chinese industrial ecology researchers (Nankai University) to leading applied biological ecologists such as Pedro Flombaum (University of Buenos Aries) and Franz Rebele (Technical University of Berlin).
