Additional information

<20>This paper illustrates how a more rigorous application of concepts from control theory can alter the approach taken to design interactive systems. The work was carried out before the iPhone release, but demonstrated systems with many 'iPhone-like' characteristics, and the more rigorous design approach will allow the design of future interfaces in more general settings.

Journal of Human Computer Studies is in the top three journals in HCI and the paper has been strongly cited.
