Additional information

This research is related to a real-world telecommunication problem about wiring and pipelining inhabited urban areas in Austria. The study was conducted within the NeTQUEST project for possible exploitation by some stakeholder including Austrian Telecom (http://ext02.fh-kaernten.at/netquest/index.htm) as part of an integrated tool for planning and decision making. Currently the tool is fully functional. Bournemouth University and Carinthia University of Applied Sciences (Mr. Prossegger; Austria) have recently established a formal collaboration framework as a result of this work. The authors were also invited by the Austrian Society for Operational Research to present this work at a public event, December 2012 ( http://www.univie.ac.at/anog/?page_id=17).
