Additional information

<28>To the best of authors’ knowledge, the paper was the first functional and predictive concordance analysis performed using independent datasets in the area of human heart failure. It offers evidence that a diversity of putative bio-marker discovery methods and derived sets of bio-signatures detected in independent datasets can point to common molecular mechanisms. The methodology and findings were the output of a joint effort with researchers from other two institutes, the Public Research Centre for Health (CRP-Santé), Luxembourg, and University of East Anglia, UK.
