Additional information

In collaboration with l’Aquila University, this work introduces a new rheometer for the investigation and viscosity measurement of uniform fluidized suspensions. Two features are noteworthy. The rheometer can measure the viscosity of fluidized powders at voidage values often used in the operation of real process units. Most rheometers, conversely, only treat aerated or compacted powders, at lower void fractions. Moreover, the rheometer permits to assign and control the shear rate, and is therefore able to reveal and quantify non-Newtonian behaviour. This instrument, through the rheologic data that it provides, can assist in the design of process units that handle granular systems in flow.
